# KYB scopes

> Business verification: company search, tax ID, and TIN.

KYB scopes verify a registered business rather than an individual. They take company identifiers and return the registered details.

  The result fields depend on the provider configured for your organization. Read the `result` object by key and tolerate optional fields.

## Company search

`company_search` looks up a company by its RC number.

## Advanced company search

`advanced_company_search` is a richer company lookup that also takes the entity type, so it can search limited companies and business names distinctly.

  The entity type: `RC` for a limited liability company, or `BN` for a business name.

## Tax ID

`tax_id` resolves a company's tax identity from its RC number and entity type.

## TIN verification

`tin_verification` verifies a Tax Identification Number directly.
